 Fancy a quick primping? Try out Kara's Blow Dry Bar!

I was invited to experience an evening of beautifying at Kara's Blow Dry Bar, a small salon based on John Dalton Street, which is just off Albert Square in the Manchester City Centre. The place was already buzzing when I arrived, with people already getting their make-up, hair and nails done. 

I helped myself to drinks courtesy of The Milton Club (and a cheeky cupcake!) before finding out more about Kara's. I've never experienced a blow dry bar before, but the concept is relatively simple - just a quick wash, and Kara's Blowettes will blow dry your hair into one of the choices from their menu! That night, since there were so many people, the staff used a hair straightener on me instead, but I loved my resulting 'Californian curls'. They were tight curls and very bouncy, and lasted till about 2 days later when I had to wash my hair.

Another great thing about Kara's is that they're really flexible with appointments. A lot of working women (and students) are constantly on the go, but Kara's is unique in enabling you to book a blow dry whenever your schedule permits, whether it's 7am in the morning or even a quick one during lunch. That's customer service for you!

The night was also a publicity event for Tanya Bardsley's (from The Real Housewives of Chesire fame) new book, all about self-empowerment and achieving your goals for girls. She looked absolutely stunning!

I also caught up with some Manchester bloggers - Anoushka, Sabina, Joanna and Anna. Loved how all their hair looked after we were totally pampered by Kara's.
