#TrendsIllustrated at Manchester Arndale

Wednesday, 8 April 2015

The day I got to design my own t-shirt!
If you've been following me on Twitter, you'll have noticed that I was using the hashtag #TrendsIllustrated a lot two Saturdays ago, along with loads of photos! I was invited along with other bloggers to Manchester Arndale during a busy Saturday morning to have first dibs on the t-shirt making event.

The invited bloggers were given the opportunity to customise our own unisex shirts or crop tops, using the various motifs and backgrounds designed by Dom from Dom & Ink of Map My Style fame. It was really fun swiping through the various drawings and zooming in and out of our shirts using the tablets shown below. I was also pretty much in awe of Dom's drawing talent - I can barely draw a straight line!

After a lot of hemming and hawing (and various re-dos), I eventually went with a rather simple design for a crop top. I wanted something really summery, so went with a tropical background and a play on the classic Taylor Swift song, 'Style'. I'm envisaging myself getting a lot of wear out of this in the summer, with pencil denim skirts and high-waisted shorts!

Thank you so much to Manchester Arndale for the invitation and shirt, it was such a cool event!
