Look Fantastic Beauty Box

Sunday 1 March 2015

Happy Mother's Day!

What has everyone got planned for today with their mums? Mine is back in Singapore, and I celebrate Mother's Day on a different day, but that doesn't mean I can't send her a nice gift to show her my appreciation.

This month's Look Fantastic Beauty Box seems to get into the spirit of this very special day with essential beauty, skincare and hair products that can be shared between mothers and their daughters. I certainly would steal some of them out of my mum's make-up purse, and I suspect she'd do the same if I had them!

I was delighted to be given the opportunity to review a Look Fantastic box by the wonderful team behind IWOOT, which I talked about in this post. They sent over a package just in time for Mother's Day - look at the gorgeous box!

Every box contains 6 items, the collective value of which far exceeds the subscription fee. This month's box contained some great essentials and everyday products which I'd gladly use.

My personal favourite has to be the Nude Stix, which is a highlighter, eyeshadow and primer in one! I tried it on once it arrived, and blended it into my lid for a shimmery finish before applying my regular Kiko liquid liner. Amazingly, the liner didn't smudge despite the heavy rain that greeted me when I went outside after. I'd definitely recommend the Nude Stix as a primer/eyeshadow combination for the lazy!

I also tried out the Lil Wet Brush right after washing my hair, and it detangled all the knots caught up in it in no time. Great for girls (and mums) on the go without much time to spare for hairdryers!

Other things included in the March box (which I unfortunately did not have enough time to try out yet) are a Lord & Berry pencil eyeliner and a Cowshed lip balm. These are, of course, products every girl needs in her make-up bag, and I can't wait to try them out. I'm also intrigued by the Fat Girl Slim firming cream, which may or may not work - I'll give it a go! The Caudalie anti-wrinkling serum is unfortunately something that I probably won't use for a while now, but I'd absolutely gift it to my mum or even grandma for their smile lines!

Overall, I'm rather pleased with Look Fantastic's box, and love how this month's products are targeted at women of all ages. What did you think of the box?
