OOTD: Palacio del Real

Wednesday, 24 December 2014
Jumper: Asos | Skirt: Missguided | Shoes: Nike | Sunglasses: Asos | Bag: Thrifted | Ring: hollymolly

Last week, I went to Barcelona and Madrid for a part of my Christmas break before I buckled down to some studying! The cities were absolutely gorgeous and really a couple's destination (I went with my platonic friend though - such a waste!). We experienced a couple of mishaps along the way (I have a terrible sense of direction), but I had a pretty amazing time seeing the sights!

I shot today's outfit at the Palacio del Real of Madrid, its Royal Palace. The interior was so decadent, but I felt that its exterior was breathtaking - the stones were a mix of clean whites and greys, with ornate lamps dotted around the courtyard. It was so nice to just bask in the sun (with shades on), such a big difference from the Manchester weather.

I threw on a chunky knit over a black pleather skirt for some texture clash, and wore my Nikes for the whole trip since we did a lot of walking. I was lucky it was warm enough not to bring my heavy-duty coat!

Grafea Photoshoot

Sunday, 14 December 2014
Coat: Boohoo | Playsuit: Bank Fashion | Heels: New Look | Bag: Grafea | Rings: Holly Molly* and Pylones | Sunglasses: Asos

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked by Amy from Grafea to do a photoshoot with one of their gorgeous leather rucksacks. I agreed, of course!

We met up in the Northern Quarter and shot around the alleys and streets there. There was plenty of traffic (human and vehicular), but I'm overall quite pleased with the shots Amy managed to snap! What you see here is just a small sample of the number of photos we took.

It was freezing cold, and it didn't help that I was braving it in bare legs and heels! Amy was absolutely lovely, though, and directed/composed the shots well. I really wished I could have kept the baby rucksack we used for the shoot, but alas, it's made of genuine leather and really does not come cheap! I had a look at it, though, and the material is amazing to touch and very sturdy. I've had my eye on one for ages, and am definitely getting one for myself once I've saved up enough money.

Also, the purple graffiti in the photos has now been covered up, sadly - in fact, some constructors began to board it up during the shoot! Wasn't it a nice contrast to the outfit I was wearing?

edit: I am currently in Spain for a short holiday, will be updating the blog when I get back xx

OOTD: Happy Halloween!

Friday, 31 October 2014
Coat: boohoo | Dress: Primark | Heels: New Look | Necklaces and Ring: Noviembre

Happy Halloween, everyone! It used to be one of my favourite days back when I was a kid, although Singapore doesn't actually recognise it as a holiday >:( But I lived in a neighbourhood that always pulled out all the stops with the decorations, and there was always trick-or-treating going on, so I have pretty fond memories of October 31st.

This year, I'm going to a friend's Halloween costume party, but here's something else more appropriate to wear out for the day itself. Of course, I went with all the tried-and-tested trends of all-black, lace and gothic jewellery, but don't you just love the overall effect? I especially love the accessories I paired with this outfit, they're so appropriately witchy (details below).

I also invested in new make-up for the occasion, No. 7's matte lip crayon in Raspberry Wine. It's quite long-lasting and is basically a deeper shade of my natural lip colour, and only cost me £9!

How are you all celebrating Halloween? Don't forget to look out for my Halloween costume soon! x

OOTD: Fringe Bag

Friday, 26 September 2014
Bag: Primark | Jumper: ASOS | Skirt: ASOS | Boots: ASOS |  Druzy Necklace: hollymolly* | Hat: H&M

I've been wanting a fringe accessory for ages ever since this year's festival season started, but strangely enough the summer pieces just didn't cut it for me. Imagine how I felt when I spotted this beaut at my local Primark! I hardly have any grey pieces in my wardrobe, or huge totes that can fit a laptop and other uni essentials, so it was absolutely perfect.

As you can see, I'm back to being the queen of schoolgirl looks - I did miss my short skater skirts/black tights combo while I was home for the holidays. I also invested in a new wool hat from H&M, since my old one doesn't really go with my current hairstyle. It's super cute and has a band round it, for that extra bit of detail!
